Memorial Garden

Wilton Presbyterian Church, Wilton, CT

Seventy Acres LLC was commissioned to design an expansion to the Church's Memorial Gardens. These sacred gardens were originally designed as a serene woodland serving as a final resting place for congregation member's ashes.

In 2012 Hurricane Sandy devastated a stand of large, cathedral-like pines, forever modifying the gardens deeply shaded woodland conditions.

The design of the Memorial Gardens includes analysis and visioning of the project site and surroundings, enhanced main entry, expansion of the gardens and plots of internment, pathways, fencing, irrigation and gathering spaces, including private areas for contemplation and seasonal outdoor church services.
